Give us A Fair Go Mate!!

Aiyaz Said Hesprettysmart Khaiyum Fiji’s Legal Wunderkid Extraordinaire Aiyaz “Said’eesprettycluedon” Khaiyum

a.k.a ASKMETOSPEAKONANYTHING.

Seems like Mainboy Aiyaz has had a change of heart from the bositerous comments he made when his Aussie Permanent Residence Visa was cancelled. He has said for Fiji to progress forward the Travel Sanctions by the Austraalian Gaavaaament and UNZED Guvement on Fiji’s Interim Ministers and appointees  need to be lifted. He further stated that Fiji’s speedy return to democratic elections depends on these restrictions being lifted immediately.

Now hold on there pardner’ and mosey that horsey back up a lil’……..

I thought that the Interim regime had agreed in principle to the proposals put forth by the Pacific Islands Forum, which were subsequently endorsed by the EU. This included holding elections in two years, conducting a census, getting the electoral boundaries sorted out, lifting the Public Emergency Decree, adhering to the International Human Rights Convention, all Military Personnel to relinquish Civilian Government posts and a host of others.

So far out of the 6 proposals mentioned above they have only fulfilled one and that was the lifting of the Public Emergency Decree last week. What happened to all the bleeting that ASKME’s superior Mandrake made when he was in The Homeland. I thought half the reason he spent so bleeding long up there was that was the Interim Regime’s way of saying ‘Fuugeddaboutit’ to the Aussies and Kiwis prequalifying condition loaded aid money.

Either it’s not a done deal or these guys are hedging their bets as usual. And what’s with the duplication of roles from the PM’s office where a special unit is being set up to deal with Aid from Non Traditional Donors i.e. our Asian Neighbours India and China isn’t that the role of Foreign Affairs and External Trade? On the one hand you have Mandrake talking about the downsizing of the civil service and then there’s all these new departments being created FICAC, PM’s NON TRADITIONAL AID UNIT…what’s the haps peoples??

Methinks it smells too much like ‘Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves’ revisited, Quasi Ministry and Cabinet anyone? Just make sure the money is properly accounted for instead of suffering the same fate that befell Chaudry’s 2000 fundraiser, loadsamoney but Mandrake conjured a fast one. Well Worry Nai Peoples once the money has left the foreign donor’s coffers it goes to the Ministry of Finance first….

Heavens to Murgatroid…. isn’t that hmmm Mandrake’s dominion, hmmm funny business even…. Exit Stage Left!!

To paraphrase the Bard:

“There is something rotten in the state of Fiji….

I guess all the ‘Worry Nai Bai’ that ASKME and Mandrake have been spouting in Bainimahendra’s ear has changed to ‘Maaaate, Staat Bloody Worying!! Especially when me mate Downey spat the dummy and said to Bainmahendra and his cronies, “Anless you blokes get your act tagatha ya can faget about watching the Bledisloe Cup enytaim soon!!”

“We hold the view that not only was the coup immoral, but it was also illegal. Commodore Bainimarama and his henchmen should move to transfer power back to civil authorities and back to a democratically elected government. They should put in place the mechanics for an election and make sure the election takes place within two years.”

Alexander Downer ‘Fijilive.’

Well I guess if the Interim Regime had trouble reading between the lines of that statement they can always enlist the aid of Codebreaker Driti, given his previous expertise in deciphering verbal communiques from Foreign Heads of Mission.

Maybe when the Interim Regime rids itself of its own travel ban list then the Aussie and Kiwi Governments should start considering ‘contemplating’ the removal of travel sanctions. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, eh……

And to me mates Johnnyboy and Clarkey…. about them blokes visas, tell the @#$^*!@+ Fuuggeeeeddaabooutit!!!

Snagglepuss

In case you were wondering the originator of the popculture saying “Heavens To Murgatroid…Exit Stage Left” is above.

  1. I have just read the comments by the illegal AG about travel restrictions placed on him and the rest of the illegal junta.

This clown masquerading as an AG must be a sandwich short of a picnic if he thinks he can blackmail the governments of Aust & NZ by holding the “election gun” at the heads of the Fijian people.

Is there anyone in Fiji who could explain, in words of one syllable or less, the realities of the situation to this fool?

By staying in his office in Suva, he is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot.

  3. I could not have said it better myself. He has the cheek to make demands he has no right to make. They should think first of the kind of responses they have been giving to legitimate requests and queries from the citizens of this country…Qarase’s travel bans, Verebasaga and Rabaka deaths, GCC suspension etc, etc. All these hanging in the air. They comply with one requirement and they expect prompt response from these responsible and legitimate governments. I can only say “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

  4. Talking about the uninspiring progress they’ve made towards meeting the Forum/EU’s conditions, I’d like to know how far they’ve gone in even achieving Pres. Bernie’s “alleged mandate” (whatever that was - can’t remember now)? So far they only seem to have passed decrees to “absolve” the military of treason in criminal and civil cases! They’ve spent lots of time and effort trying to justify themselves in the media while everything else went to pot! They’ve tried to start FICAC, but so far it has just been a crumbling joke of an edifice. What were the other mandate points, again? Clean up? What clean up? Economic recovery? Fuggedaboudit!

  5. When the Aussies revoked his PR, didn’t the bloody idiot say it was no skin off his teeth? What now? And they are trying to tie in the travel bans with our elections? Pray tell, how does that gel together? You don’t need to travel abroad to cast your vote here. This guy wants the travel bans lifted because HE CAN’T STAND THE HEAT IN THE KITCHEN AND WANTS OUT. Sorry pardner! You should have thought about that before dropping your pants and bending over for Bhaini to screw you hard and good. Now you’re all in the same boat. The MV STAY-PUT-IN-FIJI vessel.

  7. Jean D’ark, re: Bernie’s Mandate.
It was a list of 20 odd things to do, one of the first being to “uphold Fiji’s Constitution”.
This mandate seems to be like the general approach to religion, something they switch on and off when it suits their purpose.
